Well thanks to the on-line war between Google and Facebook, users keep benefiting from some great features. The latest feature from Facebook is its new email offered FREE to its users. That’s right, FREE! Fortunately when big businesses go at it, it seems that the public are the ones that often benefit from the war. What you will find with Facebook’s launch of their new email program is the control and set-up of their entire message program. Let’s look at what “The new messages” program offers…
- Consolidate all of your messages options in to one place by putting “Everything in one location”, which includes; messages, chats, texts & emails. Yes that is right emails; you’re even able to sign up for a Facebook email. If you do not think you want to have everything from everyone sent there, that’s OK because you don’t. All you have to do is go into your privacy settings and you have the ability to control who can send you a message all together
- See a “Full conversation history” with each friend as a single conversation and you now have the ability to archive it for later or simply delete it all together
- See the “Messages you want” while items sent to you by unknown or bulk senders will be sent to the “Other Folders” and spam messages will be hidden from view as well.
Now as you may think this is just another way for BIG BUSINESS to take over your information, I think it is a way to help bring everything together as a way of convenience. Yes that means you could potentially be putting all of your eggs in one basket but it is FREE and they do it because they know if your there the advertisers will be more apt to pay to be there as well.
With that said, who do you think really wins? Everyone of course; the users because it’s FREE, the advertiser because more people visit where they want and buy what they want and yes of course Facebook too but isn’t that OK considering they are putting the whole thing together?
